The Dave Clark 5 had some songs with a really great beat and were fun to listen to like "Glad All Over." The song was written by Dave Clark and Mike Smith and recorded by the group in 1963. In 1964 it became their firn number one hit on the UK Singles chart and even though it did not go to the top the song also made it on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart and became the first British Invasion hit by a group that was not The Beatles,

I remember this one well. I also remember the battle of the bands -- teens were taking sides...Dave Clark Five or the Beatles! I was a Beatles fan.

I remember learning about the Dave Clark Five from my older sisters who had in their record collections one of their albums. I like to see the reactions of kids today when I tell them that a Dave Clark Five reunion means a punch hurled by someone. I am only kidding since I am not familiar with the artist that kids listen to today.
