Going sentimental on an old photograph.

A memento in black and white popped on my memory feed - a family photograph taken on a New Year's Ever when I was probably six. I went mushy while looking at the old picture. My family is gone now, my parents demised and my siblings far away in North America. A soft longing for the warm memories of the dearest people in my heart. Perhaps one day....

I cannot tell which one is you of the two girls but you're both pretty at that age. I was an ugly duckling in my elementary days lol, dark and thin lol.

Am the one beside my Daddy. My elder sister is a Mommy's girl. Ha ha. Nope, we are not ugly ducklings. We are all swans beginning to bloom at that stage.

@florelway That is true. Probably, we are swans from the very beginning just that we look at the ducks and think them beautiful and we miss looking at how beautiful we are, too.

@rsa101 You are not alone. I know of families and friends left with no picture of their ancestors at all. Keep the ones you have in a digital album.

We can't help but cherish the good old days, can't we, because our parents created the memories.

That's a really lovely photo of you all. Your father is holding a saxophone. Did he play in a band? You look very like your sister.

The saxophone was for my brother. But he played the guitar later. My dad was a lawyer. Yup, my elder sister and I had always been mistaken for twins.

@sinari Am the one beside my father. Yes, my mother always did wear a winning smile. My sister and I took after her, I think, because we love to smile all the time.

My daughter helped me in that area. Actually, she wanted to rid the shelves of my albums so she could put her college textbooks there. To my delight. Ha ha My siblings are too far out with no desire to come back home.

It's good that you have digital copies of your old pictures before they deteriorated due to age, humidity, calamities, etc. We also wore dresses, shoes and socks back then. Was your father in a band?

My elder daughter took time to take pictures of the old albums more than a decade ago. She uploaded these in her albums and tagged me. Am very grateful. My father was in the legal profession.

Thank you very much. My mother was a naturally gregarious woman, very personable and amiable at all times.
