Three Things To Fix The US

What three things would you do to fix the mess of the US, if you could?
You can target any issues you see as detrimental to the safety, solvency or standard of living.
I'll start.
1. I would remove money from politics and use public debates instead of campaigns to determine candidates for office. In-person voting on paper ballots would be required.
No donations to party or candidates would be allowed. Term limits would follow the limit of the POTUS. Two elected terms in a lifetime.
2. I would break up the media stronghold on control. 95% of all media in the US is controlled by 5 corporations. This must end if bias is to be eliminated.
News should be news. Entertainment or opinion pieces would carry a banner or be clearly identified by producers.
3. I would seek out and curb abuse of taxpayer dollars by HC companies and reform the way they do business.
HC reform should apply to insurance carriers as well as individual HC providers.
Insurance shouldn't be so expensive. I would consider making providers and carriers non-profit yet still public entities.
Those three items can eliminate corrupt politicians and obscene spending every election cycle and secure a fair tabulation of votes, make a more informed America with news that was trustworthy and bring HC to every person that wants it without mandating coverage or using tax dollars for premiums.
I spent at least five minutes thinking about this before I started typing.
It's your turn now. Fix America in three easy steps. Ready? Go.

Amen!
Especially in healthcare. People should stop demonizing universal healthcare especially if they don’t know how it REALLY works.
Stop the war-mongering! Patriotism does not automatically mean the military. If a little more would be allocated to other priorities like urban renewal it would make a big difference
Reform the police so they can be a trusted institution again start with better training and not calling them for things they should not be ACTIVELY involved in like dealing with mental health patients

Universal HC is great on paper but it must remain private. Single payer could work but it must not be administered by the Government.
I agree that infrastructure at home should be prioritized over military budgets.
Reforming LE is a much more difficult task. A huge can of worms.
As long as there are criminals and crime, a strong and well trained and equipped police force is necessary.

@Vikingswest1 reform would not be taking away from LE of course. just means they should be trained better especially in de-escalation and of course why call police for mental health patients and the homeless? They should provide support for social workers or trained therapists.
For hc let’s agree to disagree on that! Lol
