A bowler that can make spares is a great bowler and has good knowledge of what he or she is doing. Great bowlers can make both strikes and spares. You are not always going to get strikes so you need to make spares, which is is very important as well.

I agree with you. I think you're a great bowler and I still have to learn a lot for me to do both strike and spare. Thank you for the response.

I dont get to bowl much but I love the sport. I think bowling is a sport of skill. I find it hard to aim and actually knock downt he pins I aimed for. lol. I think a great bowler can get strikes every time but if they dont they are a great bowler if they can pick it up in a spare.

Bowling is a skill. It takes a lot of practice to be good enough to get a lot of strikes and spares. You need to learn how and where to throw the ball to get the pins that you want. When i bowl i aim to get as many pins as i can. Some nights i have good nights and other nights i have bad night's. As the saying goes you can't be good all the time.I've been bowling for 14 almost 15 years and i've learned a stile all of my own. That's all that it takes is to know how to throw the ball and where to put it. I get most of my spears but when theres a split forget it. I just about miss that one.
