We bought some plant pots at a garage sale

When we moved recently to a lifestyle village, we brought very few pots and plants with us. We don’t have a very big area in which to have a garden so we were on the lookout for some biggish pots.
To buy new ones is very expensive so I’ve been looking out for garage and yard sales hoping to pick up some second-hand pots, with or without plants.
We hit the jackpot today and scored six nice-sized pots, two with plants. We also picked up some saucers to go under the pots. The plants on the right-hand side of the photo and the empty pots all came from today’s sale. This should be enough for a while.

*sigh* I forgot @myklj999 isn't here now... I was looking for him to ask if you were going to plant pot in your pots... It's not as much fun when I have to ask that instead of laughing about him asking it. *shrug*
I am curious what you're going to plant in them.

@JudyEv I've noticed several of the plants I keep inside all year need repotting now. I wish I'd noticed it while it was still warm outside.

It is a real treat to you ! You can grow a woody flower plant in the big pot.

The only downside is that big pots take large amounts of potting mix. There is virtually no soil here that's accessible for filling pots. And no little pebbles to put in the bottom to aid drainage. People throw out the most amazing stuff. That's good that you were able to rescue some pots. We call them skips or skip bins here too but dumpster is also used occasionally.

how disappointed was the seller that you bought the pots and not the garage?

@DocAndersen Tell me about it - we went through that at the last place. You can't work out what you'll need at a new place till you've been there a while.

SCORE!
I actually have a pot the same as the one that dracaena is in (but I don't have the dracaena).

@JudyEv Yes, it's the tall one, and since you're coming up on summer, it can stay outside. How cold does it get where you are in winter?

@JudyEv That might be survivable if it's in a sheltered spot, but I'd take it in.

@BarBaraPrz I think it gets cold but it's nothing like parts of your country. Maybe a few frosts each winter but here the average minimum in July (coldest month) is 43F. (7.7C)

@moffittjc Once you've hurt your back, the pain seems to recur from time to time for the rest of your life, depending on what you're doing of course.

@JudyEv I'm sure pony and I are just as innocent about growing pot as you are.
