Funny how musicians can find different areas of the body to use as inspiration for a song title. They use the senses like your eyes, limbs like arms and legs, and other pieces of your anatomy from head to toe. Quite a creative way to come up with a tune! So, this trivia series contains songs with some musical "body art," hope you enjoy them... Let's take a look at the body's extremities for our song titles today. And let's hope it doesn't cost you and "arm and a leg" trying to figure out the answers. I stumbled across this tune from 1986 by Cutting Crew called (I Just) Died In Your Arms, great tune with a sad story. Guy gets back together with old girlfriend for one night of passion and finds out in retrospect it was a bad decision. Anyway, hope you enjoy this song while you're making some good decisions figuring out those trivia song/artist clues... Whodunnit- Name those songs and artists: (Remember words in quotations can provide hints to the music trivia answers) 1. This band covered this 60's Motown song in 1975 and made it a mainstream Top 20 Rock hit. In the lyrics of this song the boyfriend will soon be leaving his girl, so she asks him to love her one last time before they end their relationship once and for all. She wants to feel his embrace and have him "rock her in his arms." This song was the first single released on what was to be the final album by the original group members, before "Michael McDonald joined the band," as lead vocalist and primary songwriter. The group's attraction to smoking "pot" all the time resulted in them using this "slang term for a "marijuana cigarette" as their band name. I can "Listen To The Music" of these guys all day long! -Do you know the name of this "Jesus Is Just Alright" band and their song with the word "Arm" in the title? 2. The tune was one of this rocker's rude "love making" songs released in 1977. The track tells the story of a young lady who won't leave the guy alone, wearing him out when she comes by for some lovin' at all hours. This song was similar to other bedroom hits by this artist; like "Stay With Me" and "Maggie Mae." In the song the singer is so infatuated with the lady's lower anatomy he just calls her "Hot ____." And with that name the artist has his "song title." This tune became a signature song for Tina Turner, a girl famous for her sexy "gams." This artist has a "unique trademark hairstyle", a spiky one which stands up just like a "rooster." -Do you know this singer whose voice and reputation with the ladies is legendary? And can you name his song with that "steamy body part" title? 3. This 1983 tune was inspired by a pretty girl standing on the side of the road during a downpour in LA. One of the band members noticed her and proceeded to turn his car around and offer the lady a ride. But she was gone, off and running by the time he got back. This gave the writer an idea for the song's opening lyric, 'She's got __________, she knows how to use 'em.' The song video featured a 1933 Ford Hot Rod, which was called "The Eliminator." The same car was used by the band for their other videos "Gimme All Your Lovin'" and "Sharp Dressed Man." This group also had an earlier hit in 1975 with another body part which they titled "Tush." Two of the band members are recognizable by their "Rip Van Winkle beards." These "Texas" boys use the "last letter of the alphabet" as part of their "band name." -Do you know the name of this trio from Texas and their body part inspired song? Ok, let's not keep those clues at "arms-length" when solving the songs and artists. If you're stuck and need additional hints just let me know in your response. Or as Randy Newman would say, "You've Got A Friend In Me." Thanks for reading and responding to my music post!!! I will return with another music trivia edition in 2 weeks. Hope you can wait til then, lol. Stay tuned... Source- Wikipedia & songfacts.com
