I don't mean by a specific plot line or anything. I've never read or watched Game of Thrones. I do know that there were a bunch of books and seasons of the show. What happened was that the show ended before the last book was published so the writers of the show had to come up with their own way to conclude the series.
The 9th book of 10 in the Outlander series was published just 2 weeks ago. It took the author 7 years to research and write it. One of the main characters in the show said in an interview that she is already receiving scripts for season 7 of the show. (each season corresponds to 1 of the books)
That means that the show will end before book 10 is ever finished and published. The writers of the show will have to figure out their own way to wrap up the storylines. I guess it would be interesting to see how the TV ending differs from the author's vision for the story.

Unless they keep going past ten. Depends on how long they decide to go.

@kaylachan With StarWars, they keep adding on to the story. Now, they have another StarWars movie in the oven.

I'm not sure how they would finish the Series, without the author's tenth book. Apparently, they have a pretty good idea of how this story should conclude, without reading the final edition. This makes me curious, whether the two are exactly the same, books (vs) television series. As long as the author is making big bucks, I'm sure he doesn't care.

@NJChicaa See, you have read those books so you would know the difference. Many who only see the Series, wouldn't know if it didn't follows the storyline.
