Another lovely Christmas song is "Silvery Bells" composed by Jay Livingston and Ray Evans. It was first sung by William Frawley (remember Fred Mertz from I Love Lucy?) The version best know was by Bob Hope and Marilyn Maxwell in the movie "The Lemon Drop Kid" Then came the first recorded version by Bing Crosby and Carol Richards in 1950.
And here you have a delightful video from the Bob Hope movie with William Frawley first giving his version of this song for fun in the movie and then Bob Hope and Marilyn Maxwell singing.

my dad used to listen to Burl Ives (I still have the record) all the time, around this time of the year! Silver Bells sung by Burl Ives is still a favorite!

@RasmaSandra Burl Ives also did a lot of the Rankin and Bass Christmas shows (on TV) as the narrator. I think he narrated Rudolph.

My mother sang 'Silver Bells' every Christmas of my childhood. Now that my mother is gone, I can still remember her voice singing this Christmas carol.
