@Babino Some do limit it to that. I grew up giving gifts to every family member we interacted with. Grandparents, one my aunts and uncles, one of my cousins and my parents. They were all local and we saw them regularly. The others lived in other parts of the country or overseas. I personally would give gifts to my best friend at Christmas and on her birthday because she was the closest thing to a sister I had and have. Now I give to close family and friends even if they live elsewhere, such as my childhood best friend. We still give gifts at Christmas and birthdays even though she lives 5 hours away. My son and grandchildren live across the country, but I still give, even if not in large quantity.

I'm glad you got your Christmas shopping done. I am usually done long before now, but I haven't even started yet.

I never pay big money for anything. Nether do i buy big gifts. The 3 oldest grands got gift cards. The three youngest got a table top game for the three of them. I have one more to mail to the youngest. I try to get meaningful gifts rather than impressive gifts.
