I always find myself listening to sad songs. I do like some happy songs but the sad ones are the ones I listen to the most.
Lately I've been noticing that listening to those songs affect my social skills so much. It's hard to listen to sad songs all day and then go out and be social and energetic all of the sudden.
I always thought our body is programmed to protect us from anything that can hurt us. Sad songs can revive the pain inside, so why do I find myself reaching out to them again and again ?
Do you prefer sad songs or happy songs ?

I think you should stop immediately to listen to sad songs. Because the words of the sad song will be recorded under your subconscious, which will definitely affect your emotions too. and will transfer the negative energy in yourself and your life as well. From now on try to listen to cheerful songs.

I don't normally listen to music but really don't want to listen to sad music.
Do you listen to the songs pony (@TheHorse) sings on YT? It seems like all he wants to sing are sad songs.

@Babino You're very welcome. He does have a nice voice, even if he does like sad songs.

Happy for me. I have too much unhappy in my life already and don't need more to depress me. You should try to change that friend.

Great question I can do both but world is sad so I think I listen to sad songs more than happy songs. Some sad songs can fool you though actually a lot of them can when you actually listen to the lyrics. Be all fast pace and then you read the lyrics, you are like damn and it sounded so happy.
Then there is this one guy he tells people at his concerts sorry homie we do not do happy songs. Then in interview I heard him say he is working on that but I just do not think he can although I find his sad songs make me happy and more social. Its the weirdest thing. There is just a weird positive vibe to the guy. He is positive just that he says the struggle that makes him sad first. He knows what his weaknesses are and just strives to improve on that. How is that sad?

Sorry I don't listen to sad songs. I love to listen slow rock, mellow and pop. I don't like to recall the past that inflicted pain to my heart. I must not pain my heart again.
