Christmas might be hotter than hot for us this year

We are having Christmas dinner with Vince’s sister and her husband, and will be staying the night. They live about 30 minutes away by car. However, the forecast is for perhaps the hottest Christmas ever for our area. They are saying it could reach 42°C (107.6°F) which is going to be pretty unpleasant.
My sister-in-law doesn’t have air-conditioning in the main house although our bedroom does. Maybe we’ll be having Christmas all sitting on the bed. Anyway, we will ring and offer to have them come to us if they’d like to. Our air-conditioner works overtime and has to be turned off from time to time. The technician will come after New Year to look at it.
The photo is of our piano dressed up for one of Vince’s photographic challenges.

It is a bit opposite here in the northern hemisphere as many are in winter and are complaining of the cold spell they experience. For us, in the tropical area where the sun is always shining most of the year a cold wind from the north is a welcome surprise for us to get away for us to feel more comfortable.

@JudyEv Yeah, we all have different challenges when it comes to adapting to our climate. Here in the Philippines weather is a bit acceptable since the cold air from the North brings relief to us here during Christmas time. But it is unfortunate to our Southern Islands as they just had a strong typhoon hitting them so the devastation is a bit unfortunate for them.

Hope the forecast proves to be wrong and you can enjoy your Christmas in a less hot temperature.
That piano looks so festive, all soaked in the Christmas mood

@arunima25 Thanks. I'm hoping it might be a little bit cooler than what they're predicting.

@JudyEv Weather is unpredictable and forecasts can be wrong many times. We hope this one is and Christmas goes well for you.

Lovely antique piano. I'm assuming it's antique because of the built-in candle sconces.

@JudyEv It obviously was well cared for. Who plays it?

@BarBaraPrz I used to teach piano but I rarely play now. My husband plays by ear.

I would definitely tell them you have to have them come to your place. If they cook in their house, it will be even hotter. Yikes

@JudyEv we had pizza after all because daughter had to work and no one felt like cooking. They hadn't been able to find a ham the day before. But we were happy because at least we had food and so many had none

@bunnybon7 Sometimes I think too much fuss is made about these occasions. If you have food and a roof you have much more than many people just for starters.

I can share some... uhm... cooler ... weather with you, if you'd like to come and get it. Our high today reached 3.3C and Christmas day is supposed to be 15.5C. (We had freezing drizzle for about an hour today. Thankfully, it melted off this afternoon.)

@JudyEv Climate change isn't helping people in Australia.
I hope you're right and you get a break from the heat.

Lovely photo. It's going to be a warm, rainy Christmas for us. About 10 degrees above normal. Your temps are waaaaay too hot!

Happy Holidays! Wow, that's hot! Our Christmas, rainy, cool and unfortunately, omicron struck over 700 yesterday & over 600 today! Officials worried.
Glad you're going to be with family, so nice, enjoy!

It's a worry. News now, 866 on Oahu covid numbers. On a lighter note, found a great pie, Dutch Apple pie made with grape juice, no sugar, but made with corn syrup too. It's in sale, $6, for 8" pie. Found a pint of Organic Ice Cream for just $2.37! Vanilla ala mode Dutch Apple pie and by starting now, gone by day after Christmas.

that does seem a bit harsh for Christmas. 107 is well into the discomfort range!

That is far too hot for me. I can cope with the cold but you would find me cuddling the aircon unit! Have a lovely time together!

Very nice photo and decorating. Do either of you play piano? That's cool.
107 at Christmas. Wow I can't imagine it. Keep safe. Not having air there would be like not having heat here.... unheard of.

@FayeHazel He plays old-time popular songs mostly. I don't play at all now. It's a long story.
