What Collections do you Have?

My collection started with models soldiers, when I was a youngster. Carting around an army that is, at the same time, heavy and delicate not to mention needing constant paint repair, proved to be a dampener on my enthusiasm!
Luckily I discovered board games and while no less time consuming to set up and needing careful handling provide hours of thoughtful contest. With distances ranging from a small field to most of our galaxy and a time scale from ancient to far future.
The top left photo shows about half my collection, I really need to catalogue them all. Most games are boxed, but some came inside specialists magazine and others in zip-loc bags.
The lower left shows two of the boxed games, the Siege of Jerusalem (70AD), in which the Roman player must break through the walls and take the city, while the Jewish player must hold out. Gettysburg is one of my favourite games, with different tactical options for the players from North and South.
Top right shows a game map, board mounted. If you think you could show Napoleon a thing or two, this game gives you the chance. You get the resources of the French Emperor and march your own path through European history.
Finally, a paper map of the far future. In the pink centre of the map is our solar system with the map stretchering out 39 light years and just to make it interesting, with space being three dimensional it also extends upwards and down some forty light years. In this game you can have two units apparently in same space, but tens of light years apart. An excellent work out for the old brain box.
Any other interesting collections out there?

Wow, quite an interesting assortment of collections! I collected dolls for years, but not now. I've kept the special ones. Now the thing I collect the most is dust, lol.

You have an interesting collection. We have a collection of games, but early days computer games.
We were beta testers in the old days for several software companies. We still have all those boxed games all well aligned in the shelves in our computer room. I cannot guess the number. I have to take a photo.

@Ronrybs It was interesting to test, to find the bugs and suggest changes if you found yourself stuck in the game. I tested the old computer adventures, that I liked more.
We still have the old computers, particularly to play those that were on floppy disks, the modern computers do not use floppy discs anymore.

Magazines! Sometimes I feel that holding onto my magazines is like hoarding. I didn't know they made porcelain Barbie dolls. I am guessing they were meant for collectors from day one. Mind you, I have been thinking that modern Barbie dolls are also for collectors!

Collecting board games requires lots of knowledge, such as historical knowledge and astronomical knowledge.

We have a lot of games too. My partner is a keen player of fiendish games especially the kind where you can be really vindictive! If it takes you the first day just to read the rule-book, so much the better. Unfortunately I'm not so keen on those complicated games, I just don't find that kind of thing relaxing, it's hard work! I prefer simpler ones. It's a shame you're not nearer!

Oh that's pretty cool. Do you have a group of people you can play with? I collect a lot of things. Too many things, I think. Glassware, coffee mugs, books, whatever catches my eye really

WEll, I am not sure how interesting you think it is, but I have a teddy bear collection that I started when I was 23 because I never had a real teddy bear when I was growing up. My husband and I also collect Christmas buildings from the Dept, 56 collection Christmas in the City. He grew up in Philadelphia so he actually experienced Christmas in the city!
