When good manners are instilled in children at a young age, it can offer them a head-start in life. Well-mannered children are indeed the source of pride and joy for the family. Nurturing manners in children has a direct bearing on their upbringing. Parents would do well to empower their children with this lifelong social skill. Your home can be the prime training ground. Begin this process early. Using good manners at home on a daily basis is as important as using manners outside one’s home. Take time to demonstrate courteous behavior in all your interactions. Using “thank you,” “please,” “sorry” and “excuse me” at appropriate times when needed can be a positive sign of mutual politeness and courtesy; it should be the norm in every home. Respect is the hallmark of good manners; showing respect to another indicates that you truly care about the other person. Encourage children to be respectful in all their interactions. Parents who have clear behavioral expectations can procure the finest results. Thoughtful adherence to appropriate table manners is a valuable social skill that can be learned with practice. Family dining can be the best avenue for practicing eating quietly and neatly. Parents must insist on children following basic rules; practicing good table manners need to be made a way of life for children. Appreciation is the essence of good manners. Children, who are taught the value of appreciation at an early age, continue to be particular about following this practice in their later years. Simple heartfelt words of appreciation even through a telephone call can be one of the most rewarding common courtesies that can be instilled in children at a young age. Instilling manners in children can prepare children for life. ~ Conclusion Manners form the basis of social etiquette. It is a mark of a fine personality and is widely acknowledged as a positive character trait. The manners you instill in your child today can yield a rich harvest for your child tomorrow. Instilling important manners in children at a young age can help them to get ahead in life as adults and become happy, successful men and women of worth and stature. Kids really need to have parents who teach their kids these things. Nowadays it seems to be getting to be a rare family trait.

Yet, so many children aren't tought those things now a days. It's rare you'll find a child that has respect.

Good manners are the cornerstones of good character. It would indeed be a blessing if parents consistently inculcate good manners in their children right from their early years.
