Vitamin A is one of three vitamins found to help in combating the COVID virus. At the University of Bristol, researchers have found that vitamin A impacts COVID's spike protein which lowers the chances of being infected if exposed to the coronavirus. Vitamin A can be found in such foods as beef liver, spinach, sweet potatoes, pumpkin, and carrots.
Vitamin D has been found to be associated with less severe cases of coronavirus. Although this vitamin can stay in fatty tissue in obese individuals, if vitamin D levels are adequate in the bloodstream it could attach to the virus's protein spike and prevent it from infecting cells. This vitamin can be found in fish, meat, mushrooms and cheese.
Vitamin K is the third vitamin that has been found to help with the coronavirus. It can also prevent the virus from infecting cells. It can also reduce the risk of getting a severe form of COVID. The virus can cause blood clotting and vitamin K keeps clotting under control. Fruit and vegetables have vitamins K1 and K2 and the vitamin is also found in broccoli, spinach, and other green vitamins.

I wonder how many people are going to go out and start taking massive doses of those three vitamins thinking they'll "save" them from Covid?

@DaddyEvil You have to eat a lot of vitamines to die, don't you? But I know I've heard of K-vitamin poisoning.
I suppose it'll be better than them eating ivermectin and other weird stuff though, hopefully some will think that they can get a lot of A, D and K by lots of vegetables.

@Torunn True... I wish reports like this couldn't be viewed by the public. There are way too many stupid people in the world but they don't deserve to die because they're stupid.

I didn't know mushrooms have D-vitamins, it's always fat fish and cod liver oil that we are told to eat here. But according to a fairly reliable source, you can put mushrooms in the sun and they'll be more D-vitamine rich when you eat them.
That of course will mean that you live somewhere with sun in the winter. *glares out window* I think I might have to stay with the cod liver oil for now :-)

Mushrooms are very nutritious. I take the vitamin D3 because I don't get out in the sun.

@celticeagle I take it because it's not that many hours of sun to get out into! :-)
So I don't usually bother in the summer if the weather is good.

I eat spinach and broccoli every day so I guess I am good on Vitamins A and K. And I also get Vitamin D in my daily vitamin and some other supplements I take so I am good there too. Hopefully, all those vitamins will protect me from getting Covud? Time will tell.

I wonder whether it is true. If it works so well, then at least there won't be so many people who are infected everyday and it seems the vaccination can't protect it well. But of course it won't be harmful to take the vitamins to have a strong immunity.

@celticeagle Vitamin K is important in preventing blood clot, K1 is obtained by leafy green vegetables and K2 from meats. cheese and eggs.Vitamin K deficiencies are rare, better never to take supplements, unless prescribed by a doctor.

That is interesting, Vitamins of some kind should be taken every day whether they help fight against COVID or not, I have not taken any in a long time but will get myself some multivitamins in the new year,

I guess that was what I was trying to put in people's heads. The need to get these vitamins, especially, into our diets.

I have been taking Vitamin D3 all along, because it is supposed to help various health issues. I have not been taking A, but it was recommended about ten or more years ago by my optometrist for vision health. We need to choose healthy foods and prepare them in a healthy way, and not overdose on anything.

I have too. I don't go outdoors so need it for what the sun would give me. I need to eat healthier but money is an issue. I hope to do better in the spring and summer.
