Trying to Decide Between Textbroker or Medium

I am trying to add one more writing site to my ways of earning money online. Textbroker I used to write for Textbroker but stopped because I wasn't finding enough articles I was interested in writing and it became tedious for me. But I am a better writer now and think I could go up to a higher writer level. Plus I never signed up for teams and you can make more money that way. The trouble is once I didn't log onto the site for 1 year, they closed my account. So, I am not sure if I try to sign up again, that they will even let me back in as a writer for Textbroker. Does anyone know if they will accept me for a second time? Medium: This is a new site for me. I already write for HubPages and enjoy that. Medium sounds like it would be another site I would enjoy writing for, but in order to earn money, I think you have to pay to join their Partner Program which I believe is $50 a year? I don't know if paying money to make money is worth it? Does anyone know any more than I do about Medium? Is it worth signing up for and paying the money? I would like to try to join either Textbroker or Medium on 12/31/2021 or 1/1/2022 so your thoughts on either of these 2 writing platforms would be most helpful!

I am on Textbroker and have a problem that I did not go beyond being labelled as a number 3 writer meaning I now rarely see offers for articles to write while everyone at the 4 level has plenty, Medium is a good site as much as you can write just about anything but yes, it is best to be in the Partners Program because you have more exposure and can make more, I am going back into it again in the new year but stopped for a while due to short finances but I still write and post there, I have always written and posted my poetry on HubPages but have not made a cent and now that there is no more commenting I believe I will not write there anymore, You might like to take a look at Vocal Media and paying 9.99 a month for Vocal + is worth it because you can cash out at $20 and get in all the challenges to see if you can score the big bucks, Best of luck to you There is also Upwork where you can bid for writing jobs, Sometimes you get lucky and then you can make some nice money,

@RasmaSandra I am like you and stuck at 3 on Textbroker. I was 4 very briefly, but got demoted after trying for an article that I could not keep it together on, it was too long and it just never worked out properly. I like what you have written about other sites. I would like to increase my online income for those times of year we are out of school.

@GardenGerty let us both hope that in the new year we might make it to level 4, You should try Medium and Vocal because you can write at any time and then your articles get money as people read them so any time you got a chance to write you can pop in an article,

@RasmaSandra Oh wow, thank you for all of these tips. Regarding Hubpages, I can see why your poetry hasn't made much money there. I have read that they want articles that run in the 800 - 1,200 word range on HubPages. I don't understand how the people on that front page can earn so much money per month on there. I need to up my game there and write more hubs. I have about 260 hubs there, but have had a goal to hit 300 for quite some time. I was a level 3 on Textbroker also, and the pay was not great. I noticed that there were lots of articles available in the am but they were all gone by the afternoon and evening. As far as Medium, I don't feel right about paying to earn money. I am feeling the same way about Vocal +. I have heard of Upwork but haven't looked into it. Thanks. Great information here.

@Spontaneo BootCamp? Gee, I don't even know about their BootCamp. Yikes, it is sounding more and more like Medium might just be too much of a challenge for me this year anyway.

I don't spend much time on either one. So I can't speak for either sites. Hopefully you find what works best for you.

@Kouponkaren I have been sitting most of the year halfway to payout on TB. This may motivate me to at least look again.

Once you develop a clientele on Upwork you can make some decent money there. It has helped a lot during pandemic. I have lots of poetry on Hubpages that I am going to take off this year and rework. I am going to shift my focus there and write legal articles--and basic business law and mental health articles. Medium requires a lot of time to read other's work and comment--but I make most of my $5 a month back each month--not all--I am signed up for Vocal--but haven't posted there.

@divalounger I think poetry doesn't do very well in terms of earnings on HubPages. I think the longer articles do the best, and especially the ones you can add Amazon items to. That's hard to do with poetry. I have over 250 hubs and don't always make payout every month. But they are all spread out on different subjects so you are smart to develop a niche. It seems as though the writers who make the most money on HubPages all have a niche. I think I am going to try Textbroker again. But I will look into Upwork. Thanks.

Paying money to earn money is not a tempting prospect for me.

I have seen tweets about Medium and only had a look at the first page. Didn't realise you needed to pay in. I would be thinking two or three times about that

@Ronrybs You can join for free but if you want to earn money I think you have to join a preferred partner program.

@Ronrybs I think you have the opportunity to join that Partners Program to earn more money. I haven't figured out if you can earn without joining that. But after all of these responses, I think I am leaning toward trying Textbroker again. This ol' dog isn't interested in learning any new tricks.

I've never heard of Medium. I might have taken a look at it until I learned that they required a fee. Personally, I won't go there. That's just me. Actually I have an account with Textbroker that I started a long time ago. I qualified as a 4 star writer but have not submitted my first article. Too many other things got in the way I suppose. I don't know if you can sign back up again with Textbroker. You may have to contact their support.

@betlynfmds Well, you may not have an active account anymore. They closed my account on Textbroker when I didn't check in and write anything for a long time.

Neve heard of those. Anyway whatever is good for you -- go for it. I hope you can write more and earn more. I love writing, but I can't write besides from my thoughts and how I feel. God bless.

Before you join the website Medium; see if you can find out what other people have to say about the website. They will give you an honest answer on if you should join.
