More You Tube Favorites: Through My Lens (#2)

Happy New Year’s Eve!!! By the time I post this some of the world will already be in 2022, so happy New Year to those folks. I have to wait a while to welcome the new year, and I will waste that time watching You Tube. Here’s a favorite channel of mine. #2: Through My Lens Josh is a photographer and videographer. And, oh, he travels. A LOT. Thankfully, he’s a photographer and videographer, so he’ll gladly take you along. He is great at these video tourist stops. There are two types: the shorter “things to do” videos (what you’d expect in a lot of cases), and the longer “exploring” videos. For the shorter videos, he highlights the best of the best. In the St. Louis (video linked below), for instance, he talks about the obvious (the Arch, the Zoo) and the obscure (Cahokia Mounds), as well as food recommendations. In the longer videos he covers an entire vacation. One of the wow videos is his trip on Route 66 with his dad. Yes, it’s two hours long, but you’ll wonder where the time went by the time they reach the northern terminus in Chicago. He generally focuses on the U.S., although there is a Guatemala hiking video included on his page. If you need a recommendation of a place to visit in 2022, or want to reminisce about someplace you’ve been, this is an excellent way to go.
