Happy New Year to all of you!
We spent a quiet evening at home last night. We watched via webcam the festivities on Duval Street in Key West. There were hundreds and hundreds of people in the street. We watched the conch shell drop over Sloppy Joe's. We had a glass of champagne to toast in the New Year...New Year's Eve is the only time we drink anymore.
What did you do last night?
I spoke to my PCP (Primary Care Physician) on Thursday; and she said that they are getting calls all day long from people that have the virus. She said that 95% of the hospital cases are people that aren't vaccinated.
Some sad news...I hadn't heard from my friend in a while -- she didn't send the usual Christmas card which was unusual. I went online and typed in her name, looking for an obituary...and unfortunately I found one. She had been fighting cancer for years and years and finally succumbed. She will be missed.
Well, nothing else new here. What are your plans for today? We are going to have more ham and sweet potatoes...and maybe a couple of crab cakes.
Stay safe, happy and healthy!

Happy New Year! I celebrated NYE at Magic Kingdom, they put on the most amazing fireworks show! And even more exciting, with capacity limits still in place, the theme parks weren’t overcrowded like they usually are on NYE. I was disappointed though that so many people weren’t wearing their masks, so I’m keeping my fingers crossed that I don’t catch the Omicron variant. I still have 2 weeks to go before I get my booster shot.

@LindaOHio Disney requires everyone to wear masks, but most people had them pulled down so their noses weren’t covered, which defeats the whole purpose of even wearing a mask.

I hope you stay healthy too! When watching the Key West festivities via webcam, the only masks we saw were on Indians and Asians; and there were hundreds and hundreds packed into a small area.

We watched the ball drop in Times Square as we do every year, even if we are on vacation out of the country.
So sorry about your friend. My friend with cancer texts me daily. She’s down in Florida. I’ll see her in 10 days.
Hubs is in the process of removing two recessed lights over the island to replace with pendant lights. Heaven help us! Son is on standby to help.

I woke up many times. Stayed in bed, waiting for hubby to wake up. He finally did at 1 pm. I’m starving. Wonder what we’re gonna eat.
Sorry about your friend’s passing. Hubby’s friend’s mom passed away yesterday.

@LindaOHio and with this vaccine mandate in NYC can’t really do stuff unless you are vaccinated.

We are with family, every new year's eve get together and pray. We thank God for our health and sufficient needs throughout 2021. And we pray for God's protection and blessings in our lives throughout 2022. Then we sing together, to sing a spiritual song, or a song of praise, to glorify God's greatness and give thanks for God's goodness in our lives throughout the past 2021. After that we set up fireworks while eating and drinking something sweet, and laughed joked with the family.
Happy new year 2022 to you friends too. Hopefully in 2022 you will stay healthy and God's Blessings will be abundant.

I am sorry about your friend.
My high school classmate is now in the US with 3 kids. The last message we got from her was asking us to pray for her youngest because of covid.
