Have you ever been swimming and suddenly it rained?

During the New Year, usually many people vacation with their families or children.
Some go on vacation to the beach, village, or swim with their families or children.
If you swim in a hotel or in a swimming pool, maybe when it rains you won't feel the rain. But if you swim on the beach, in the river or in the water park area, then when it rains, we will also be hit by the rain.
For me, when swimming and there is rain falling from the sky, then this is a very exciting thing. But what is feared is if there is lightning, for fear of being struck by lightning.
Do you like swimming while enjoying the rain?

I have went swimming in the rain many times. You're right. It's fun.
I get out of the water if any severe weather threatens.
Here's one for you..
Have you ever been swimming while it's snowing outside?
I have. Several times.
A hole would be cut out of the ice on top of the lake and after a sauna, everyone would jump in the water.
Yes. I DO know how stupid that sounds but it was pretty common where I grew up.
It's more fun to swim while it's snowing.

I've never swam in snow. Because in my country there is no snow, or snowing like in your place.
If there is snow in my place, then I will most likely try to swim in a place where there is snow.
if I'm strong and don't freeze. LoL
It's good to know that you can and are strong enough to swim in the snow. thank you

Like this. It's a little more than a minute.
A few brave souls (Jae, Charles, Jenny, Clint) embraced the cold and left the cozy sauna house for a dip in the frozen lake.

Wow...you're great friend. Don't you feel cold? and after getting out of the snow hole, do your feet still feel, or ache? If I was in that snow pit, I would probably freeze. LoL
The endurance of your body and your bones is extraordinary. You are very healthy.

We go for swimming only during summer. And it is fun when it rains ( light showers are okay not the downpour). Our swimming pool is closed since the pandemic.

@sinari Our swimming pool opened after a long time in December but then Omicron cases spiked and it is closed again. It was there for only a week and we didn't go.

@sinari It's unpredictable times with this mysterious virus lurking around. Omicron is the wide spread dominant variant but Delta is not fully gone.

Yes, that's absolutely true. In my place, the pool staff will not allow us to enter the pool when it rains heavily. Indeed, what is feared is a lightning strike. But strangely, when I was a child, my friends and I often took a rain shower, and were not afraid of lightning. maybe because we were young, so we didn't understand the danger of lightning.

@youless Yes, you are absolutely right. Really spoils our mood. When we were cool to swim, suddenly it was cloudy and it rained with lightning as well. For the sake of security and safety, then we have to get out of the swimming pool. Very disturbing our happiness who likes to swim.

I've been a long distance swimmer for quite some time. From my experience, pool water actually gets warmer when rain begins.

@stewartclint how can the water be warm? or because your body is constantly moving so it feels warm?

@ladyhero Yes, and perhaps in combination with a lot of other factors: the cold raindrops on your body provides the opposite sensation of the water below, the same cooler rain on hot land around the pool transfers the heat into the pool water. In any case, that's my experience of it.

I do not remember swimming in the rain since I have heard horror stories of lightning strikes while swimming.

I don't think I've ever been swimming while it was raining. You definitely need to get out of the water if it is lightning!!
