Help Decide

United States

I could make scalloped potatoes and meatloaf with dinner rolls. I could make denver omlettes with bacon and biscuits. I could make hamburgers with oven fries. I could make soup, split pea or chicken with rice and egg noodles with grilled cheese or BLT and chefs salad. I could make homemade pizza and garlic bread sticks and salad. I could broil salmon and have pan fries and salad. I could make oatmeal raisin cookies. I could make peanut butter drop cookies with kisses on top. I could make cinnamon raisin rolls with butter icing. I could make blueberry or apple pies. I could make my dinner and dessert from anything listed. What should I make?

Anything you feel like making. I just browned some ground beef and ground sausage together and then added chopped onions and bell peppers and spiced everything. It came out delicious.

@Vikingswest1 I actually made shawarma this morning but when I was packaging it into single servings to freeze for later, I found I'd made too much of the onion/bell pepper part, so that's what I added to the hamburger/sausage mixture. I've made it a couple of time and Pretty and I both like it.

Make homemade pizza and garlic bread sticks and salad and an apple pie for dessert tonight. Tomorrow, make hamburgers with oven fries and an apple pie. Call me on the day after that and I'll tell you what I'm in the mood for. I can't predict that far into the future from here.

@1creekgirl I do. It's a modified Betty Crocker recipe from the 1954 cookbook. 1 C flour 1/2 C butter 1 C sugar 1/4 C powdered sugar 2 eggs 1/2 tsp baking powder 1/4 tsp salt 4 T lemon juice or juice from two lemons. 2 tsp grated lemon peel Mix flour, butter and powdered sugar, press into 8x8 pan. Build up edges.. Bake at 350° for 20m Beat remainder of ingredients until fluffy and pour over hot crust and bake another 25 minutes Sprinkle with powdered sugar and wait to cool. These are really good lol

@sinari I also have my wife's recipe box with all the dishes passed on from previous generations. The bread and the pie crust recipes are well over 100 years old.

It's a long story but I was forced into learning later in life. The Betty Crocker cookbook has come in handy more than a few times.

I have certain things I need to use up. If I make scallops, I won't have enough ham for omelettes or split pea lol
