Good morning my friends in Asia and Good Evening my friends in America, I went to bed too late at night but i woke up too early, this makes me unmotivated today, i had trouble sleeping last night, it happened the last few days, I feel very tired even though I'm sleeping. Is it because i have a lot on my mind? Have you ever had trouble sleeping or insomnia? What do you do to sleep?

I put some soothing music on to get me to sleep. Mood music or lullabies might help. Personally I put on an Andre Rieu CD and they helps me get to sleep. Or, I read in a book about sleep, that one way to get to sleep is to not try! Tell yourself that you're not trying to go to sleep, you're just resting. That works for some people.

I sometimes listen to music too but it makes me unable to sleep, or maybe because the music is too loud. Wow i just found out about it, i will try it tonight, hope it works, thanks for the tips

@Iqbaleee You don't want the music on too loud, nor rousing music. Soft music or lullabies could help.

Sorry you're having trouble. I won't normally have any trouble sleeping. Most often, I am asleep 5 minutes after I lay down. If I DO have trouble, I'll read from a book until my eyes get tired. I will sometimes make a hot lemon with honey to sip while I read. If I STILL have trouble, I'll consider taking something like Benadryl for short term relief.

@Iqbaleee It sure seems to work for me. I use the phone all day but there's something different about reading from a physical book. I wish you luck.

Watch a long boring movie works for me. I fall asleep before the movie finishes

Overthinking at night will drive sleep away. You need to close your eyes and not think too much. Or you can drink milk before going to bed. You will fall asleep faster. When you watch tv late at night, or you stare your phone screen late night, you will have trouble sleeping

@Iqbaleee you are most welcomed. Some people like me have trouble sleeping with the lights on. Because my brain thinks it is not at night

@mildredtabitha I also can't sleep when the light is on, it's very annoying to the eyes, but some people can sleep when the light is on

I've experienced it. Sometimes we have trouble sleeping when we have a lot of thoughts or stress. Usually I drink a glass of warm milk, then go back to sleep while trying to calm my mind. And finally able to sleep soundly.

@Iqbaleee Wow, I don't know the name of a dairy product that can definitely make you sleep. But what I can tell you, when I have trouble sleeping I will drink warm milk. yes, it can be any brand of milk, the important thing is warm. Lol, that's me. but I'm not sure if it works for you too. But it's not wrong if you try it. Maybe you can drink warm milk with the brand of milk you usually drink.

While in bed before I sleep, I spend time to mentally revisit my entire day, review what I did in the context of my long term plans, and decide what to do the next day. I really don't know if this helped me sleep but I feel so relaxed and at the same time eager for the next day, seems my body just sleep on its own.

It does not seem to work for me, if I plan something for tomorrow I'll have a hard time sleeping because of that thought, but I will try to find a way to relax

Yes, I have trouble falling asleep 3 or 4 nights a week. Especially if something is on my mind, or I have to get up with the alarm. I usually take magnesium at night and drink chamomile tea, but lately, that hasn't been working. My doctor just told me this week that I can try melatonin so I think I will give that a try.
