stop hanging out with ur frnds who smoke... make a headstrong determination tht ull stop smoking... try and chew the gum whole day, i hv heard it helps, no personal experience so not sure how much... it will take time for deaddiction... ull find constant urges to go and hv one puff but restrain frm it... once quitted never evn think of touching it...
if nothing helps u thn thr are nicotine patches available which can help u in cutting down slowly... also medication named buspirone is available for smoking cessation...

I keep a photograph of cancer patient on my desk and each time when I see the photo, I redetermine to keep the smoking away. I have succeeded in this. I used to smoke 10 a day and now none a day. Think of your children, your wife. What damage one is causing by smoking which contributes nothing but stink and ill.

When the doctor told my father that he should stop smoking immediately, my father was not taking it seriously. He could not stop it fully. Then I requested him to follow the Doctor's advice, but while requesting him I felt from inside that "How can I tell him to leave smoking when I myself smoke?". So immediately stopped smoking forever. That was about 10 years back and then when I requested my father again he readily oblidged.

will power will help you quit smoking for ever .but u need to be consistent enough and divert your mind when ever u want to smoke. you should chew gum or do somethibg else to supress the urge of smoking.

I just quit cold turkey a month and a half ago and it seems to still be working. When I feel like I want one, I will chew gum or suck on a sucker

I think the nicotine patches would work in helping you quit if you are a chain smoker.
