Healthy Smoothies for Losing Weight

I have been trying to come up with ideas to create healthy smoothies - especially for weight loss. In the past, I had a habit of using only kale, bananas, blueberries, and almond milk to make smoothies. However, I am thinking about changing recipes and not sticking to the same ingredients all the time, lol. I stopped drinking smoothies for a few months and gained some pounds over the holidays. I guess I got lazy. So, I definitely need to get my health back on track. I just ordered a portable blender to help make more and more smoothies. Has anyone made healthy smoothies before? If so, what ingredients have you used? Did they help with losing weight?

I make smoothies but I don't know of any that help you lose weight. If you get any good recipes to help you lose weight, please share them with us.

They could help you lose weight if you have them instead of meals.

I sure will. I know I was sticking with kale, bananas, and almond milk before I took a break from drinking smoothies, and I was able to lose a few pounds. I want to try different flavors because I have gotten bored with the taste, lol. I'll explore new ingredients and will definitely share them. :-)

@sharonelton Oh yes. I am thinking about replacing two meals with smoothies.

You can use watermelon, grapes and avocado. They help in losing weight. You can also blend cabbage.

Oh wow. I never thought of avocado. I think I'll try to add that in my smoothies.

Also, I just bought some cabbage. Including this is not a bad idea. :-)

I just bought a personal blender at Walmart for about $15. It works really well. After blending, I can carry the cup portion around while on the go.

I make a lot of smoothies in the Summer. I usually use milk, yogurt, bananas, and ice. I think they're healthy, but I'm not sure.

I have a soup maker that has a drinks setting but I haven't tried it yet. I must do that some day soon. Have you tried carrot, or maybe strawberry? Blueberries are also good.

My wife makes, especially beetroot juice! With a little sugar it is acceptable!

I don't take smoothies. I make different breakfast everyday. I like more of salty taste than sweet.
