Student loans to be forgiven to thousands of students

January 17, 2022 7:05pm CST
Just read an article on the settling of a lawsuit against a company said to be exploiting students on their loans. Especially in the United States, this shows us the ugly side of capitalism where the poor instead of getting help are plunged further into debt. Student loans and the health industry are often the most criticized of these industries. What do you think? here's a link to the article:

Bad Capitalism is still better than good Socialism. The students knew the terms and willingly signed up accepting them. HC needs work here. An idiot that was in charge thought that HC should be affordable so it was made mandatory for everyone. It caused premiums to double for those that already had insurance so that those without could be covered. It didn't work. Healthcare providers need the reform not the premiums paid into them. A huge blunder. A single payer system could work as long as the government wasn't in charge but just paid premiums. That in itself would lower costs to taxpayers/consumers. Providers would be held accountable for rates higher than necessary.

“How people themselves perceive what they are doing is not a question that interests me. I mean, there are very few people who are going to look into the mirror and say, 'That person I see is a savage monster'; instead, they make up some construction that justifies what they do. If you ask the CEO of some major corporation what he does he will say, in all honesty, that he is slaving 20 hours a day to provide his customers with the best goods or services he can and creating the best possible working conditions for his employees. But then you take a look at what the corporation does, the effect of its legal structure, the vast inequalities in pay and conditions, and you see the reality is something far different.” I think thousands of students that were preyed upon by deceptive student loans and people bankrupted by predatory healthcare billing would disagree with you.

@NatsuYeung HC billing... You have a point but that hasn't been addressed by officials. They went after the wrong people. Student loans... They were supposed to read the documents before signing. No sympathy from me.

I worked and paid for my college degree. That way I had no college debt.
