Kitty has a new habit: she sleeps with me every night! Cat people? I need your input!

A few weeks ago, Kitty developed a habit that bothered me slightly. She was sleeping a lot behind the TV, where I can't see her. I couldn't tell if she was mad at me (I was out of wet food for a couple of days) or thought I was mad at her (I hiss at her when she sharpens her claws on my couch). But for the past couple of weeks, she has been climbing into bed with me every night when I "crash." She will head out in the wee hours to do cat things, but she's back in bed with me when I wake up in the morning. I wonder what caused the change. Is she guarding me from Orange Kitty, whom I have not seen recently? Am I guarding her from Mr. Skunk? (He did his thing at about 4:45 AM this morning.) Do cats just like to shake things up now and again? I'm not a cat person, but I'm learning. Any thoughts?

Her routine has been the same for the last five hours or so. Asleep by yesterday's laundry on my bed.

@just4him Her naps seem to exhaust her. So she takes another. Is this normal cat behavior?

I'm not a cat person either, so catminator from his kitchen, with 3 of them might answer. Till then you can gaze.

@FourWalls Sigh. She's gaining confidence. She's sleeping right through the wood shredder on the bike path right now.

@RasmaSandra Probably so. If Kitty got squished, I know I would cry. Wait. That's a different question, isn't it?

Cats are social creatures that need affection and attention from their owner. By sleeping with you, Kitty is showing you that she loves and she trusts you.

I'm not burdened with thoughts cause I'm blond. And I don't know much about cats. I only have three of them.

@TheHorse Or the opposite. If there is an AfterLife and it's a really good place, why am I wasting time here?

@xander6464 Dang. I wonder about that often. Maybe the afterlife involves being the "other living being" in the interactions we have here. If so I'd better give some cats and dogs some good lower back massages.

I’m not a cat person so I don’t know. Maybe she just wants company.
