Nikki Stovall who is 11 years of age who lives in Southlake Texas has learned her lesson never again to crawl underneath a storm drain after she decided to explore what the world underneath the surface is like. Nikki who was in the company of her older sister Carly, 13, decided to crawl down a storm drain near their mom's home on Wednesday afternoon when Nikki went inside while her sister was outside the storm drain when Nikki encountered a snake who did not like to see a visitor in his or her area. When Nikki decided to attempt to crawl out of the storm drain in another direction, she encountered another snake which caused her to be trapped underneath the storm drain. When Carly found out that her younger sister needed help, she notified her mother who is also named Nikki called the local police and firefighters to rescue her daughter who was trapped underneath the storm drain. Both the local police officers and firefighters were able to rescue Nikki from her trap underneath the storm drain. The two girls admit what they did was stupid and promised their mom and the rescuers they will never try to do that again. The mother of the two girls will not punish her children for their act of stupidity hoping that they have learned their lesson not to crawl underneath storm drains again. I know that feeling since where I used to live in Metairie Louisiana near the 17th street canal, there was a storm drain in the middle of the main road.

You are right. Idle times are the devil's workshop.

It seems like kids of all ages do something they shouldn't do. I'm glad Nikki was rescued.

That is true since kids do not know about the danger spots around their neighborhoods.

I know what you mean since I guess they did not know that storm drains are dangerous places to visit.

You’d think kids that old would know better but kids are explorers.

That is true since I remember a storm drain near my home in Metairie that drew my attention but I knew better than trying to enter it.

Good thing the snake didn't attack her and was rescued in time. I think they learned a very hard lesson in life. Being adventurous can sometimes become harmful if they just do it recklessly without assessing the risks in whatever they want to explore,

The two young girls were lucky this time. They admitted that they won't do it again.

While I was reading I thought about snakes. They like to get in these drains. Glad they are safe.

Me too since if my late mom would tell the children "Let that be a lesson not to enter storm drains ever again."
