Just a Regular Dad

I found a heartwarming story today that Meat Loaf's daughter Amanda Aday told about her dad. You know some rock and rollers can be bad dads and others do not care and it was nice to read that Meat Loaf was one of the good dads. Amanda said as soon as they heard Meat Loaf was not doing well she and her sister Pearl rushed to his home in Nashville, Tennessee to be with him before he passed on. Meat Loaf married her mother Leslie in 1979 and he adopted her daughter Pearl from a previous marriage. They split up in 2001 and he married Deborah Gillespie in 2007. Amanda remembered during her growing up years having the opportunity to travel the world with her dad after he skyrocketed to stardom after his success with the Bat Out of Hell album in 1977. She fondly remembered that this was a great experience for her. However, after they returned home to Connecticut Meat Loaf became just plain old dad. He was very much involved in the lives of his daughters helping them with their school plays and even coaching the softball teams. And as with all fathers if the grades were not good they got grounded. She also remembered that her dad's favorite holiday was Christmas and that one year he bought every Playmobil toy there was to surprise his daughter. With the right upbringing Amanda is now 41 years old and a successful TV actress.

that is a good thing to hear - I've heard over the years that in fact Meatloaf was a really good person.

The future of children is very much determined by how their parents educate and love them

No matter how successful a person becomes in the eyes of the world, they are still just like the rest of us underneath.

what a sweet dad he is. no wonder, success has something to do with how one has been brought up by his parents.
