2022 Health Journey - Day 24

January 25, 2022 12:47am CST
Evening everyone, how are you all doing? I am going to probably head to bed soon since I need to get up somewhat early to head out of town for my appointment with the endocrinologist. I wanted to share how I did today though with food and blood sugars. Fasting - 77 Meal 1 - 2 pizza wraps ~ street sized tortillas, pizza sauce, pepperoni and shredded cheese. & a sugar free jello on the side. Blood sugar - 108 Meal 2 - Bratwurst and about 2 oz ham A low carb/sugar free caramel cup on the side. Blood sugar after - 81 Meal 3 - 2 and a half pieces of cheesy chicken that I made (not sure the ounces...but I made a recipe so counted it all on myfitnesspal) Followed that with 1 serving of a salted caramel lily's bar (2 net carbs) Blood sugar 2 hours after - 57 Snack - 1.5 servings of the salted caramel lily's bar. Didn't want my sugar to drop in the night....so hoped the bar would keep it from dropping. Macros for everything - Calories - 1,374 Protein - 79 Fat - 99 Carbs - 51 Fiber - 35 Net carbs - 16 Sugars - 8 I try not to go over 50 TOTAL carbs per day.....and like to stay 20 net carbs or under. I know I don't get my fiber from vegetables...but I still get some fiber in. Today that mostly came from the chocolate bar - but I don't have that daily. So - what do you all think of my day of eating? Still did pretty well I think. The 108 sugar was a bit of a jump from being 77 fasting. That 57 was pretty low too... Maybe I need to try 8 units instead of the 10. I'll see what the doctor thinks tomorrow. Picture via Pixabay

Take your daily log of tests and meals with you to your appointment. That will help the doctor decide what you need a lot

It feels like you are doing well, your pattern is interesting. I have the same drop late pm, but I walk 5 miles and then the sugar is lower.
