Would I Be a Good ''News Curator'' for my Locality (Rambling Acres, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, USA)?

I heard on 'a news-story coming up today' (or 'last week's preview of this week's story') that "the death of the local newspaper is robbing the community of 'keeping up with each other' (births, deaths, marriages, graduations, other big events)."
I don't really try to keep up with all that, but I 'stumbled upon' the online version of the local newsletter. Signing-up for it and surfing to my 'dashboard' there, I'm given THIS LINK. https://www.we-are-patch.com/join-our-team/newsletter-curators/
The qualifications they ask for - I fit the first two ("Are you proud of your community? Does sharing the inside scoop with others bring you satisfaction?"), but the last one ("Do people turn to you for advice on things to do in your local area?") something else I might've picked up if I had chosen to make people drive me to more places to make more friends & acquaintances. But--if you HAVE the connections in your local area--maybe you can apply to be your Local News Curator!
(I didn't even 'stumble upon' it "locally"; I watch the Heart of the Nation CATHOLIC MASS. I got the calendar the broadcast offers, and I wanted to know about the chaplain who wrote a couple messages that accompanied it. The best search-result I found was a PATCH article ... FROM WAUKESHA, WISCONSIN!
(Maybe I--like a lot of PATCH's administrators--want 'localism' to spread NATIONWIDE ... not 'my locality, nationwide,' but rather 'strengthening each locality locally, and serving as the "hub" of all their localities---being the "Hub-Bard" (my name is Hubbard))

It's only in America ... let's see what they've got going on in Colorado ...
I started to apply, but something about 'the form' made me think that I probably ought to spend a month-or-two 'writing news & advice' there ... maybe see if it feels right for me.
