Many people, very often, make promises even though they are not sure that they can fulfill their promises. In some cases it's even just to please others because basically what is promised they can't decide on their own.
Therefore, I try to avoid promising what I am not sure I can fulfill. For me a promise is something of high value and sacred. Something I can't just say without thinking first.
So, if I can't make a promise, it doesn't mean I don't respect other people.
How about you guys? Make a promise or avoid it

I also don't give promises which I know I can't fulfill. I believe that you should honor your words. Because word of honor makes you a more credible person.
If you don't keep your promises, no one would ever believe anything you say. Once words are spoken , you can never take it back.
It's like spreading rumors, once it starts, it would catch up like fire and you can no longer control it. Hence, we should be careful of what we say.
