What kinds of soap do you make? From scratch or the melt and pour type. I have been making soaps for years and now my family is spoiled they hate store bought. Do you attend fairs or give them away.

I have a book on making soaps, but have yet to try making soap. Someday maybe. Christmas is coming... Maybe then, as gifts.

I've made 4 batches of cold process soap (with lye) so far. I think its a really fun hobby and I would like to start selling it but not sure how to go about it. Does anyone sell their soap?

I had to read your post twice to make sure that is what you said... Yes, Home made soup is good to taste, but don't think I would be tasteing the homemade soaps that I make. ..practice always helps.

I've never tried before but after the reading the postings, it sounded like fun to do so. maybe i'd look over the internet on the guidelines.

It is very simple to make your own soaps, They are so pretty and the scents & colors are the ones you choose. I have given them mostly as gifts and sold a few here and there. The internet is a great place to do some research. If you have a Hobby Lobby or other craft store near by you can go there and see the supplies. Fair Warning though. It is an addictive hobby, and your friends & family will love you for it.

I LOVE IT! I do fairs...here and there, but I really can't stand taking it down & setting it up. So for the most part, I'm bending over backward to get my internet sales where I want them to be. Just started making liquid soap, now that stuff is WONDERFUL

I know the feeling, it is alot of work to set up a booth and if the sales aren't there it makes it worse. I have made lots with my soaps and given away lots too. I wish you the best of luck with your online marketing, that is a great idea. I haven't gotten into the liquid soap yet, I bet it is wonderful. Thanks for sharing.

I make different ones like the small scented color soaps you display in the bath, Bar soaps for the shower and I have made some bath salts to bathe with. None of my soaps are liquid. I make the melt and pour one like you get from Hobby Lobby, I would like some day to make my own from scratch but I am afraid of the lye so for now the hobby continues the easy way.
