On of my kids teachers emailed me asking if it was alright to bring home made baked goods to class. She does this every year and just needs the parents permission if it is alright and I’d there is any allergies that she need to know about that might not already be on the school file. I let her know it was okay and if my child wanted to bring it home it could. If she was wanting to be shareable with all of my children’s siblings it need to be gluten and nut free and gave her suggestion on flour that would work and was safe to use.

It is good that the teacher is considerate about checking with the parents. The school I teach at is diligent in ensuring parents who volunteer to bring home-baked goods to school know what allergies to be aware of when planning what to bring.

We are not allowed to bring home goods to my kids school unless it’s a class party. She had a tickets in hers room and my daughter turned in her tickets and one of the prizes you can choice is for the teacher to bake something for you. So that was what she choice. Other wise If I make bake goods at home I send it in there lunch.

When I was a kid , if you had allergies it was your responsibility to take the proper precautions.

As do all parents that have kids with food allergies. The kids is allergy aware they do not cover all of food allergies and there could be students that brings in snack I mean for themselves not the whole class. Unless it a class party the parents then send in things that covers the whole class. I’ve been room mom several times. I’ve also personally emailed the room parents if it something wasn’t for going to be available for my son to let them know something was going in with him or to his teacher. But this permission was from the resource teacher which is different she was wanting to make something to bring to class for my daughter because she had turned in her tickets and picked the prize where the teacher bakes something for her. So her teacher needs permission for that because the teacher are not allowed to technically bring food for the students with out knowledge. She wanted to make sure she wasn’t give something to my oldest that I wouldn’t want her to have which any adult should do when it comes to someone else.
