Lola Allen who is a retired physical education teacher in Fayetteville North Carolina is living proof of the saying "If you first you do not succeed, playing on trying until you succeed."
Lola along with two other lottery players who live in Spring Lake and Asheville split the winnings of the $1 dollar Cash 5 ticket which had a huge prize of $793,257 dollars which was on the drawing of Tuesday.
The cash each player will win will be $264,419 dollars before taxes are taken out. What makes Lola's feat incredible is that she has played the same five numbers on the lottery ticket for a period of 16 years.
When Lola found out that her faithfulness of playing her favorite lottery numbers paid off, she "was numb."
I would feel the same way if I won a huge lottery prize myself which will happen in my dreams since I do not play the lottery anymore.

I agree with you playing the same lottery number for 16 years finally paid off for her.

@RebeccasFarm I always say that when I win anything too. People say "Oh you are so lucky" and I say, "No, I am blessed!" And I really feel that I am blessed too!

@Kouponkaren I wonder how often should I play or what type of lottery will I play. Maybe I should try just for fun

The same with me even though I have no intention of playing the lottery anytime soon.

She certainly was lucky. I have been playing the same numbers since 1989 and have only won a maximum of $70.

It is a very long shot to win a huge prize in the lottery playing the same numbers.

I think Lola played the same game every day even though the article did not provide any information on how she played her numbers if it was on a daily basis.

How nice for them! That is a nice amount of money to save for a rainy day. Oh, forget the rain and just spend it!

The same here since I have been advised that only a person who can afford a few dollars should pay lottery at all.

I agree with you since the lottery winners paid their dues to win the big prize.

It would have to happen in my dreams as well because I don't play the lottery either. Once the taxes are taken out, and she subtracts how much money she has lost over the past 16 years by playing and losing, I wonder how much of a profit she will have left?
