Anyone Using Windows 11?

United States
February 3, 2022 8:16am CST
My computer is ready to update from Windows 10 to Windows 11 and my question is... Are there many differences or is it basically similar to Windows 10. I hate change and not very computer savvy and a little leery of switching over. Any advice would greatly be appreciated

I do not use Windows anymore, I switched to Linux. My husband tested and he told me there is not a big difference between 10 and 11.

@Marilynda1225 - Check your system first, Windows 11 only runs on devices with Intel Core i Series 8th. Some people started the upgrade and had their system messed up.

From what I've seen, it should be easy and friendly. I don't have it, but I will get it when I have the opportunity. My computer isn't compatible or I would have downloaded it by now.

that's encouraging Valerie because I'm so scared to switch over and not be able to navigate through it.

@Marilynda1225 If you go to Microsoft, you can take a tour of the new Windows 11 before buying or downloading it.

I got Windows 11 just after Christmas and I've not noticed any changes at all. Like you I was doubtful (on the grounds of 'if it ain't broke don't fix it') but a computer savvy friend recommended it.

I refused to upgrade to Win10. My laptop is getting old but still runs pretty well. I'm not sure when I'll move myself along with the rest of the world. Probably not until I'm absolutely forced to do it, though. Good luck with Win11.

I feel like i'm being forced to upgrade since my computer is bullying me every time I use it. I keep hitting the remind me later but eventually I guess I'll have to do it.

@Marilynda1225 I shut reminders off on my laptop. I'm not looking forward to having to do all that kind of thing again once I buy a new laptop.

Thats good to hear. I don't mind a few changes but I don't want to have to learn a whole lot of new stuff

I'm on MacOSCatalina version 10.15.7... I hate tech updates. The only thing that needs to be updated around here is the weather... this winter stuff is getting really old.

I agree about the weather. This winter is the worst and I don't remember it being this cold for so long.

My dad ever upgraded his Windows 10 to 11 as there are some new features. Especially it is supposed to run Android apps in Windows. But then my dad didn't like it very much and downgraded his computer to Windows 10. Windows 11 can't support Android apps well yet.

I use it, its on my new laptop so with all of those changes I cannot complain about Windows 11. Everything is new to me.

I'm always a bit leery of a new update but guess it's a constant learning process when it comes to technology

We haven't updated yet but I guess it will happen soon. Somehow, the changes often don't seem to be for the better.

I’d have every reason to be leery. My mom just had Win11 on her laptop and it started acting crazy. But it maybe it depends on the device?

I have windows 10 and I have no idea how to switch.

Wow, we've really come a long way with the Windows versions and updates. I have no clue whatsoever about Windows 11, but I guess it is either the same or cooler than Windows 10.
