The steppe peonies, scientifically called Paeonia tenuifolia, lies at the Zau de Câmpie, the only place in Europe where this flower survived.
This reservation is located on the highest place in the world to which this plant has adapted, over 450 meters, and has over 50,000 specimens on an area of ??3.5 hectares, divided into two lots.
The steppe peony is an extremely fragile plant, which once existed in Europe, but has gradually disappeared, because it dies immediately if it is harvested to be put in a vase, and to multiply it requires special attention.
I love the place when the peonies are bloomed. You need to visit it.
The picture is taken in 2019.

That is very pretty!
My mom grew peonies when I was growing up. The flower looks almost the same but the leaves are different from the ones that grow here.

@carina75 I understand. I didn't like the peonies mom planted all over the yard. There were big black ants that loved climbing on them when the peonies bloomed. If I got close to one of the bushes, the ants would bite me. That hurt!
