Not cancelled, not delayed

I do not think a bit of the snow melted yesterday under the cloudy sky, but we are not cancelled and not delayed.
Good thing, too. This is a short pay month as it is. And my brain is getting stuck. I cannot think of anything to say. I cannot focus on anything.
I often think I would like to retire and stay home, but probably would stagnate if I did.
I am almost ready to go.

Snow didn't melt here, either. In fact, it snowed all day.

I like snow much better than ice or sleet.

There are people who scoff at our closings, but some of it relates to how many rural students are in school and whether the road crews have been out to help the roads.@DianneN I feel stagnant because at this time hubby is sleeping about 16 hours a day and he has not got the energy to do interesting things. Not how I pictured our life.

@DianneN I am from New England originally and it always surprises me when schools in other areas of the country get canceled due to things like freezing rain. Oh well, the kids enjoy having the day off anyway.

Stagnation is not necessarily what happens. I am just in a slump due to hubby having slowed down so much and we are not doing anything.I have been feeling stagnant. He is mostly sleeping. At work I am constantly learning new things.

I am trying to be very careful. One of my bus kiddos took a fall on the ice and has a badly bruised ankle and is in a lot of pain.

Retiring sounds good to some, but many we know wound up going back to work. They did not enjoy being home so much and liked the paycheck! Can't blame them a bit.

I did retire when we first moved here, but really seem to need the paycheck. I also took time off work during times when my husband was seriously ill. I think it would be ideal for me to cut back to working part time.

@GardenGerty Most of the people we know who are retirement age went to fewer hours. It's nice they can collect their Social Security plus make a bit working a few hours. For some in our family, it seems to also be a part of their social life.

Once I was dressed and out the door it was fine. Kind of clears my head.

There are things I would like to do and hobbies. On the other hand, I feel useful and I learn a lot at my job.

@GardenGerty I think everyone needs to feel of some use to someone or something.

When I have to stay home right now, it gets very frustrating because hubby is not feeling well.

There is so much to do other than work if you retire. You can always volunteer somewhere that interests you. Or take classes or find a new hobby, travel, or just start doing things you want to do besides going to work. People think I have retired because I left my job at a high school, but I sell on eBay and do freelance writing and love both. So I am still doing work that makes me happy, just not as much work, and more travel and more play.

I like what I do most of the time. My husband, however, would probably do better if I were at home more. I do not have the patience for Ebay. I would ask you where you freelance at, though.
