Valentine Kisses Top Ten: In France They Kiss on Main Street (#7)

Home again, home again! I made a few discoveries, which I’ll discuss later. Right now, it’s time to give you another musical kiss. While you do have two other country music kisses to get through, one isn’t all that bad (I mean, it was a crossover hit), today isn’t one of them. So you can rest easy for a day or so. 
Here’s today’s kiss.
#7: In France They Kiss on Main Street - Joni Mitchell
I can’t think of Joni Mitchell without remembering a comedian by the name of Dennis Blair (see, I know obscure comics, too, it’s not just weird music 
) who had this great impersonation of her and did this to one of her songs:
How come every time I sing a song
I’ve gotta put so many stupid words in every line?
The younger generations just know her name, but us old farts grew up listening to things like “Free Man in Paris,” “Help Me,” and the song she wrote in tribute to the concert, “Woodstock.” (If you’re interested, or even if you aren’t, Mitchell did the artwork on the cover of Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young’s So Far album as well.) While this was released as a single, it didn’t get much attention in the era of the Captain and Tennille and KC & the Sunshine Band.
Oh, well. I remember it. And I like it.

Wow, two days in a row? You may be hesitant to come back and play tomorrow.

I'll always come back and play. More than not I love your song choices for your lists. I like that you go to some artists I either don't know or don't like. They deserve some respect too even if it is a hard pass from me
