"An idle mind is a devils playground"

When I was growing up my grandfather and my mom always use to say "an idle mind is a devils playground" my sister and I were in every after school activity you could think of. Ballet, Tap, Hip Hop, Jazz, Piano, swimming etc. We never had time to sit around and be bored or watch a lot of tv. But my issues is that kids now a days don't have that. There parents are to busy working to worry about what there kids are doing. So now these kids are bored. They sit in front of the tv, or hangs out at malls and street cornors with there friends, smoking drinking and god knows what else. Its this reason why kids are getting in to trouble with the law and entering into gangs and stuff. If only there parents would take the time to put there kids into something other then just school and then home to sit in front of the tv.

I think you are absolutely right. Many Y.W.C.A.s have afterschool programs, for the children of working parents. I have nothing else to say about what you have said. You are right !!

Some places do not offer much for kids to do after school. not all kids are athletically inclined and shouldn't be foreced to play sports if they are not interested. I'd rather they were at home playing video games after school than be on the streets and that is usually where my daughter was until she was old enough to get a after school job.
