Day 248 Isaiah 37:1 And it came to pass, when king Hezekiah heard it, that he rent his clothes, and covered himself with sackcloth, and went into the house of the LORD. 2 And he sent Eliakim, who was over the household, and Shebna the scribe, and the elders of the priests covered with sackcloth, unto Isaiah the prophet the son of Amoz. 3 And they said unto him, Thus says Hezekiah, This day is a day of trouble, and of rebuke, and of blasphemy: for the children are come to the birth, and there is not strength to bring forth. 4 It may be the LORD your God will hear the words of Rabshakeh, whom the king of Assyria his master has sent to reproach the living God, and will reprove the words which the LORD your God has heard. Wherefore, lift up your prayer for the remnant who is left. 5 So the servants of king Hezekiah came to Isaiah. 6 And Isaiah said unto them, Thus shall ye say unto your master, Thus says the LORD, Be not afraid of the words that you have heard, wherewith the servants of the king of Assyria have blasphemed me. 7 Behold, I will send a blast upon him, and he shall hear a rumor, and return to his own land; and I will cause him to fall by the sword in his own land. Nobody wants war. However, war is inevitable. Countries have warred against each other since the beginning of time and will continue to war against each other until the end of time. Rabshakeh came against Judah to war against her and take Israel captive to Assyria. When King Hezekiah heard his plans, he went to God in sackcloth and ashes into the house of the Lord and sent word to Isaiah. God answered Hezekiah and told him not to be afraid of the king of Assyria. As Christians, you look at the world. You see how war looms between countries. War is inevitable. Jesus said there would be wars and rumors of wars until He returns. Matthew 24:6 And ye shall hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that ye are not troubled. For all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. 7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom; and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in many places. God sent a word by Isaiah to Hezekiah to comfort him and let him know Assyria would not prevail in the war. Every day you come face to face with people who want to destroy your life. It might not be an act of war as seen between countries. However, Satan wars against you because you are a child of God. He tries to break down your faith as the king of Assyria tried to break down Hezekiah’s faith. Don’t let it. Go into your prayer closet and spread Satan’s plan before God and wait on His answer. In Hezekiah’s case, God answered immediately. God will answer you right away too and defend you against Satan’s attack. He promised to defend you against Satan. Trust Him. Let’s pray: Father, Satan is my enemy. Every day he plans to derail my faith in You. Help me stand on Your promise to defend me against whatever plan he has against me. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen. The world is in turmoil now.Based on the scriptures you just showed us it was already predicted and it would seem that there is more to come. May the Lord help us in these trying times.
