I didn't think anyone could upstage the gold digger Virginia Guiffre this week but I was wrong. You may not have seen this story outside of the U.K, but there was this 100-year-old ex army guy called Captain Tom Moore, who, during Covid lockdowns, walked 100 steps a day outside his carehome to raise funds for the NHS, which raised millions of pounds and the storywent global. He later died of Covid.
Two years later its discovered that his relatives, who helped the fund raising and set up a charity to distribute the money, were allegedly fleecing the charity by setting up companies to siphon some of the money off and then draw a salary of 150k a year to be the head of a foundation worth just 1.2 m .
It never ceases to amaze me how different people are to their media presentation. There is no suggestion the relatives suggested to the old boy to do the 100 steps thing but they moved in when it because a global story and clearly exploited it. Its kinda sad I guess that a war hero should be treated this way. I hope they are jailed.

The Bible says the love of money is the root of all evil. I totally believe that.

Sadly, it happens often. A hero established a charitable organisation and his relatives are exploiting it.
