A Degree in English Composition ... Was That Supposed to Make Me Money?

Not at the university! it seems like most of THOSE degrees only help you become 'a University Professor in that subject!' Of course; when I started at the University, I still had dreams of 'somehow getting my violin-skills back and becoming a superstar (when whatever 'liberal arts'-education I got would just help me make good choices in my career). I actually had started as an Entertainment Business major, but--when it became clear that I wasn't going to be able to do the backstage-work EB majors need to do--I switched to English Composition. And all that time, I never learned about 'doing what Twitters #WritersCommunity is always talking about doing with their work'---querying (which I suppose is where you submit a story-idea to a book-publisher). https://twitter.com/search?q=%23query%20%23Writing&src=typed_query&f=top Can you tell me more about "querying"?

I have never heard of that. I can't even imagine what English composition can mean. Sorry English is my third language. It does sound like composing a symphony ? I really don't know sorry.

It's a fancy way of saying "writing" (just like "composing a symphony" is a fancy way of saying 'writing a song')

Until this post, I've never heard the term. Sorry. With your skills, though... you could probably do some frelance writing if you wanted.

I can just say good luck. I know most writers of my generation from my country and noone has gotten rich writing.
