We have a serious problem. Our child is addicted to playing cellphones. It started when my sister-in-law stayed overnight. She who gives children's YouTube shows. Finally our daughter is addicted to playing HP. All methods have been done. We've given up. So take the extreme way, namely by installing a ghost photo as a cellphone wallpaper. It worked very well. Our children are afraid to hold a cellphones. Are there any bad effects?

My grandsons have Ipads, They have many things not available to them as their parents put a parental guard on the devices. They can have them in the evenings but only after homework, dinner, clean up and showers. Dad limits their time and they are not allowed to be on them for hours. This has worked well, they have learned to love sports, ride their bikes, play ball with friends. They read books, too. There is a boy that lives next door to them who is addicted to his Ipad, he rarely goes outside to play. He just eats junk and plays games. He has very few friends. So I am glad my grandsons are not permitted to just have access all the time. Set limits on all things.

@Faster16 I hope you can set your boundaries and work it out. It won't be fun and you won't be popular for a bit, but in the end, you will be doing the right thing. Moderation in all things is the best way.

Yeah as parent I wouldn’t have do that. Scaring them nope a lot easier to let the battery drain or just take it away and put it up. My three kids have iPod they are allowed to use when asked. I can collect them and places back where I have them at any time. It’s when you allows them to keep doing so. You allows it by letting your child have it don’t blame another person for an adult decision you choice to keep going and then decide hey let’s scare the child to teach them a lesson.

My daughter is lazy to study because she often watches youtube, her eyes are also red. We were really confused, so we had to make this tough decision

I wouldn’t have thought of that nor would I have done that. Just take the phone away so she can’t have it if you don’t want her using it.

@Faster16 yeah, take the phone away. I understand d you dont like the crying but you are creating a monster. She will get over it. Provide her with more things to do and leave her to do them. Coloring pictures, drawing, reading, building with blocks, playing outside, playing with dolls, planting a garden, maybe sometimes TV.

There might be psychological effects, why not her own photo or photo of nature or parents.

I'm sad to admit that my grandkids are also addicted to computer and cell phone games. We just let them be as long as they do their homework. When they don't, the PC and the CP are off-limits, until they do. And it works, like a miracle.

No, I would not do this. That is very scary. Just use your authority as their parent and do not let them use a phone, or place limits. No phones can be used until housework and school work are complete, etc.

thank you for sharing your opinion, but it seems we are weak as parents, can't bear to see children cry. Moreover, our daughter can bear to cry until late at night

Oh gosh, hope she's not scarred by that experience. I would explain nicely or not charge the phone so she could play like a few hours only.

Wow, you are also creative by installing a ghost image on your cellphone wallpaper. But I'm afraid that your daughter will be afraid to go to the kitchen or to the toilet, because she might imagine a lot of ghost faces on your cellphone.
