Husband likes to go fishing. He has fishing gears I don’t know the names (sorry) and an old but well-mended fishing net. Early this morning, he went fishing with the guys (his father, his brothers-in-law, our son and his nephews). It’s their bonding moment and they do this once a month. They came back home wet and sun kissed and sea-smelling and each one bringing a pail of something fresh and moving from the bountiful sea. Which all went to the charcoal grill. The one in the photo above is my favorite.

Is that octopus that is cooking on the grill? I don't think I've ever had that before. It doesn't look very appealing to me. But I'll try anything once.

@sol_cee Yes, a little bit. But not too much, because I do like eating calamari, and that's just squid tentacles. So I imagine octopus probably doesn't taste much different.

@sol_cee There is a perfect method to cook it perfectly so that it is not hard at all. Boil a large quantity of water, put the octopus in the boiling water, lower the heat, cook for 20 minutes. Turn off, put a lid on the pan and let it rest until cold. Mom was always surprised how my octopus was tender and tasty.

I was going to guess octopus or squid. I've never seen either one before.

Wow! Octopus!
I like it but I don't know why my tummy can't handle it... Or maybe it was just cooked the wrong way. Last time I ate it, my tummy rumbled/churned..

@sol_cee Yeah, well, I did say octopus. And it's small, so yeah, it's a baby.

We don't have opportunities to do that, but omg I would love it! My son loves the baby octopus. In fact, when my son was maybe 4, we had a get together at our Phil friends' house (my daughter's friend's parents) . . . the husband made makeshift Korean bbq in the backyard. They got baby octopus and he let my son stir them up on their grill - he loved that. That's nice that "the guys" there had bonding time - do they do that often?
