How many of you have read the book Eragon before? I love that book! Eldest is nice too, but I prefer Eragon. Can't wait for the 3rd book! Anyone have any ideas what's going to happen in it?

I've read the book before, its a great book and so is Eldest. Im guessing Arya and Eragon will hook up? Haha thats a long shot, but it may happen. Its possible that Arya or Orik could become the dragon rider of the last dragon. There are tons of possibilities to consider. I heard the book was due out summer 2007 at the earliest. You can check out this site for more theories and ERagon stuff www.shurtugal.com

The third dragon? Well according to Shurtugal.com theres a third egg since Saphira and Thorn were born. The egg is supposedly supposed to contain a male green dragon. You can check this site out for theories about book 3 http://www.shurtugal.com/?id=trilogy/book3/theories
Can't wait for the movie!

well, it's basically about this guy called Eragon, who finds a dragon egg. The dragon hatches for him, he learns a lot about the relationship between elves, dwarves, dragons, and humans, and goes off to join the rebels against the king called Galbatorix who is really evil. You can go to http://www.alagaesia.com/ for more information, or just search on the web.
Enjoy!

I have read the first book. At first it was hard for me to get into - but then I absolutely loved it. I have the second book and will probably read it on my 5 hour plane ride to Seattle next week. I don't think the movie looks that good. The actor they chose for Eragon seems too arrogant. And I think the Elf princess should be older.

I read it, and i read Eldest as well. Eragon is better.
As for what is in teh 3rd book, a lot can be guessed, and a good bit is revealed by Paolini himself on the fan site.
however, a lot is still a mystery.

My girlfriend has these books sitting in my closet forever. Every now and then she'd break one of them out and re-read it. I always made fun of them and called it E-Dragon because it didn't look like he'd put a whole lot of thought into the character's name. When it started to get some buzz and I saw that the movie was coming out I decided to finally give it a shot. It was a bit slow in developing but overall, I really enjoyed the book. I pretty much read it non-stop so that I'd be done the day the movie came out (too bad the movie was such a disappointment). But now I have half a year until the last book comes out so I'm really taking my time reading the second book. I'm not sure if I can milk it for much more than a few weeks but I hate sitting around waiting and I don't want to forget anything.

i am also waiting like crazy for the 3rd and hopefully the final part of the series.
we can't read the authors mind, but i can at least foresee that eragon is gonna find out new means of extracting energy from other resources, that may prove helpful in his final battle against Galbatorix.........hoping the next part is going to be a hell lot of adventure :)

Yeah I had read the books much b4 the movie came.
The books have an excellent plot and I can not wait to get a move on to the third book but have no choice but to wait.
May thats the reeason I am here on mylot.
As for whats going to happen I would say it will definitely be according to the werecats. Eragon will continue his training in Ellsemera and find the weapon he needs and then go of to seek power where the werecat told him .
After that his innocence and lack of black skills will help him and He will secure victory over Galbatorix with his brother whom he will get rid of the promises made in ancient tongue somehow.
And then Saphira will get to mate ( sorry I forgot the name of Eragon's brother and his dragon)
And ya the gem of Dwarfs that was broken will be restored by Eragon and Saphira together ;)

i have read the book thrice each..they are really fantastic.the fantasy in iits height..i love eldest more..the pace and the grit is eally marvellous!!...the impressive point is..christopher paolini wrote eragon at 15..he first submitted the draft to his mom and dad[they have their own publishing house, the paolini publishing company]..his mom asked to improve on it..then he spent one year on it..making corrections here and there..he took it back to his mom after one year..he got the same reply..so this time he spent one more year and then took it..they published it..the book was an instant hit!!..then came the random house publications which bought the publishing rights.....and all the while christopher was just 17 when his first book[eragon] came out!!!the youngest author to be this successful..he is just 20 now!!!!
