10 Bee Gees Songs - #10

"Words" was written by Barry, Robin and Maurice Gibb. Robin said that "Barry had been arguing with someone" and "I had been arguing with someone"; so Robin and Barry had been in the same mood. The arguments were about absolutely nothing; so they were just "Words". Barry said that "We used to bang singles out one after another...". The Bee Gees were very successful and very prolific songwriters. Barry sings solo on this track. Cash Box called this song a "beautiful ballad line with a semi-soft, somewhat-rock sound" and a "brilliant vocal lead". The song hit #1 in Canada, Switzerland, Germany and the Netherlands. In the US it was #8 on the US Singles (OCC) chart, #15 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and #19 on the US Cash Box. Photo Credit: Wikimedia Commons

Words is one of my favourite Bee Gee's songs. Also covered by Boyzone.

I associate the Bee Gees with the disco era.

The Bee Gees always reminds me of Dan, my mom's employee. He was really into them. He's in his 60s now and still working for my sister.

That unusual voice gets you from the very first words even when you're expecting it.

I know this is the only the 10th pick on the list, and thus the first pick of many... But it's already evident I need to listen to more BeeGees.
