Can Sourav restore India's glory?

India's batsmen have the reputation of being the finest in the world with their penchant for tall scores and ability to play mesmorising shots. However, the reality is they so often flattered to deceive once away from the familiar (not flat- that's unfair) Indian pitches - Tendulkar and Dravid apart.
It wasn't until Ganguly took over the captaincy that this began to change and all the Indian players started to show more fight abroad - look how Sehwag has scored 100s in England, South Africa and Australia - Laxman was a revelation in Australia and did well in the Caribbean. This was short lived however, as when Rahul took over, India's old frailties began to show. Can the very presence of Sourav in the camp bring back the old magic, can he contribute enough runs himself out on the field and even give the one day team a boost at the top?
As much as ChappellG is stubborn, being Australian he is pragmatic and I feel will come to realise Sourav is an essential part of both sides. Sourav has proven his worth in the domestic game but more important has been the character he has shown - that's what gets a good player to score like a great one - as the example of Collingwood only too well shows.
I'm ecstatic as his comeback - are you?

Sourav Ganguly together with VVS Laxman are the 2 fantastic players who India are sorely missing. You can see that from recent previous series. They have vital experience which can aid the teams performance and advise them. Im glad that theyve been recalled by the selectors, you wait and see and look at the effect it will do to the Indian cricket team. England zindabad by the way.

People have very short memories. all these people were criticising him for his bad performance and behaviour with everyone sometimes back and now others are not doing well so he has become hero. its not so. No single sportsperson can win india a world cup. A team spirit amongst all these players can only win us a world cup. and only sourav can to anything. he is just playing for his pride of long career.

No. thats not the case. Sourav can create nad take up moral curve of the team as he was a great captain of that team.
But sourav has to play his natural game as well to keep his place safe in the team
