Helping A Friend

Hi myLotters. How is everyone? Been awhile since I last posted. Really trying to get into a regular writing schedule here but life has other plans for me. On the tail end of my two day rest days. Spent most of the past two days doing errands. Managed to get my debit card from my bank which is good. That has been pending for more than a week now. Also, spent much of these past two days setting up a thrifted clothes business from a college buddy of mine. He fell through hard times during this pandemic. It doesn't help that he is recovering from stroke so his work options are limited at this time until he fully recovers. Our group of friends have been helping out financially but let's face it, we cannot always extend financial assistance. I had thought of helping him get work but that is taking time as well. He has no family to turn to. His ex-wives have left him. He gets support from his children - both biological ones and adopted ones but each adult child have their own lives and families to look after as well. Finally, thought of setting up a thrift store in his home. Locally, we call it 'ukay'. He has a nephew who can help him out. Our group of friends were able to get a supplier and manage to get some funds to help him start. we got him two bales which is around 100 to 150 pieces of assorted clothes from jackets, hoodies, wind breakers, to shirts and dresses. The left over cash, we gave it to him as well to help him tide over until his business gets going and starts showing profit. We are looking at providing him additional bales for him to sell. We are also doing an online selling event for him. It will feature items from my personal online store and two other online stores that I'm part of with different sets of business partners. Half of the sales will go to this friend of ours. Glad to be able to help in this small way.
