SHTF Fund

I have a SHTF fund, a rock bottom emergency fund. It is not easy to carry so not easy to spend. To make it even harder to get to I put it in a 5 gallon water jug. It is extremely heavy (moving with it sucks!) It currently has $600 in coins. I save my coins in a jar until they get to $100 and then add it to the SHTF fund. Do you have a special emergency fund? Do you save your coins or spend immediately?

I don't really save coins, but every transaction that I make on my chequing account the bank puts a toonie from that account into my savings account. So I save coins, but it is all done thru my banking, and its less of a temptation there but if I need it I just go online and transfer it over to the originating account to cover any unexpected expenses.

At this time, I am only left with a few dollars not really any savings. You are doing great! I do have a very small coin jar, a glass jar.

Do you have a special emergency fund? Yes, I do. Do you save your coins or spend immediately? I save the coins and when it reaches a certain amount, I have it changed into bills and then i either spend it, save it, or invest it.

We have a lot of coins. What my husband does with them, I don't know. But, he does something. And, yes, we have a personal saving's account where our rainy day money lives.

Yup, have a mini emergency fund other than the bank one.
