Lawn Mowers Have Started

Even with the cooler temps this weekend, many neighbors are mowing their yards. The grass is barely turning green. But some cannot wait for the chance to get out and mow I suppose. Mowing too early can cause problems for the roots of your grass, leaving them exposed to the weather. Oh well, who am I to tell anyone when to mow. It is their yard after all. And it is the first day of spring. Kind of reminds me of others saying how certain foods are "crap". How dare anyone say that. We are all different and should be respected as unique individuals. Anyway, just sayin'. Have a good Sunday everyone. Not my photo, but a John Deere mower sits in the garage. Happy first day of spring as well.

Most of my neighbors who also live on half acres put gravel on their lots so nothing can grow unless they plant a tree or something. I could never put gravel on my lot as it would destroy the lizards that live here.

I like the grass and trees too much to do that. But with the heat I can understand.

Gravel and pavement just makes the heat worse.

@rebelann That is true. Some will put gravel in flower beds but the flowers do not thrive.

I have told people on social media not to mean with someone just because my views are not in tune with theirs.

John Deere tractors are used in India as well. Not interference, but some advice to neighbors can't be bad! May be they have their own reasons to mow grass early.

Hubby mowed our lawn this weekend, but it's fairly warm and dry here that people cut their lawns even through winter. I don't mind if people don't like certain foods, but it's the way one expresses it . . . sometimes it's just not nice.

@CarolDM Right. One could just say a food is not to their liking . . . no need to say it's "crap".

I agree about not being nice. Life is too short to make these comments. Oh well, takes all kinds.

As I was ambling to the shops, this morning, and I heard several mowers and other garden implements motoring away. I am ignoring my garden, for the moment!

One of my neighbors used his lawnmower like a golf cart! Heard him riding around yesterday.

Happy First Day of Spring to you too Carol. Yes lawnmowers, chainsaws, leaf blowers and the lot make much too much noise here..but luckily they have not started yet.

It sounds like alot of people have spring fever. That's okay, its their lawn, if they want it cut its all good. I know what you mean about people saying some foods are crap, it is very insulting. Happy Spring Sunday 2022.

Wow congrats it's spring. Others were so excited to mow their lawns . Yes, true respect is important. They have to mind their own affairs.

The church across the street from us had their yard mowed on Friday. I am going tomorrow to mow part of our church's yard, not all of it is green nor tall. But up around the front, it is green and is tall. I also need to trim the bushes. When I mow the first time at church or here at home, it's never the entire yard, just the tall places. You're right, we need to respect one another's differences and not put anyone down because they do/like something different than we do

Seems like that people can't wait to do outdoor stuffs and so mowing their lawns earlier than they should . Have a good spring. Spring has officially ended here in India with Holi ( the last festival of spring) on Friday. Summer is officially here.

No one is mowing here yet, but any day I suspect. I was going to work on mine on Saturday but lost my mojo. I would be quite surprised if it starts after this cold winter.

With snow still in the forecast, I don't expect to see mowers for a couple of weeks yet. Definitely before Easter. But not today. Happy first day of spring. It's national frog day too. It might be international. I wasn't paying attention when I read about it.
