MSN Live Messenger 8 and Norton Antivirus

Hello, I am getting a strange message that says that the Norton cannot scan the MSN Messenger. I have done everything as per instructions in Norton and Microsoft, The PC is virus free, but the message keeps popping up even when I am not conencte dto the internet. Has this happened to anyone outthere? If so, or if you know how it can be fixed please respond! Thanks a million ! :))))
