Big project but it's done.

I decided to take every single item out of my pantry, and I have a very big pantry. So I completely trashed the kitchen, covering countertop and table, etc. I washed all the shelves. I rearranged everything and made it more convenient for myself, putting what items I use the most often in the spots easiest to reach. I checked every expiration date.
I do pretty well on the date thing, because I try hard to but the newest behind the older, and so forth. I discovered a new bottle of syrup I bought last Friday had decided to leak. It had never been opened and I didn't drop it. Syrup makes such a mess...so it's cleaned up, too. At least cleaning and organizing gave me some more ideas for meals to fix, and I needed to be kick started on that.
I did the big cabinet in the bathroom Saturday, took everything out and wiped it all out, reorganized, and so forth. Two more closets to go and the small pantry. I will tackle one of those tomorrow.
I always do projects like this when I'm stressed or worried. I won't get in to the why just now, it's complicated, but when I get like this I have to have a project, and I usually have to make a mess doing it before I put it all back together again.
Do any of you do crazy stuff like this when you are stressed?

Oh, I do that too. Bad day, too much to worry about, I usually end up in the kitchen.

@MarieCoyle Yeah I feel that too, so I try to cook some food for myself.

That's a good way to put it. I was like a possessed woman! I was determined to completely wash and sanitize and reorganize....then I scrubbed the floor, because...the stress wasn't gone. LOL.

Umm, maybe I haven't noticed the correlation though. Keeping my pantry organized seems to be a never ending task.

I usually just take every single thing out twice a year. But the other day for some reason I realized I didn't like the way I organized it to start with and I was going to do it all over. I am so happy that I did, it's now a lot more convenient.

I used to do that. However I live in a lot smaller home than I did previously, and rearranging some furniture is just not possible to to lack of space.

I am at it again today...I moved out some furniture and scrubbed underneath where the table sits and did the baseboards in the kitchen. Scrubbed the master bath down. I want to sleep tonight, LOL!

I decided if I was going to be unable to fight the stress, I was going to try to work it off. It definitely helped. Usually I do sewing as I love that. But not this week, I am trying not to sit and think too much, LOL.

My home is not that large. I have 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, an open living room and kitchen, utility room and garage. I never do it all in one day, I keep up on it and sweep, mop, etc. on a regular basis. I can't give you a length of time because I never do it all at once. I'm retired, I just can't.
